Hearty Pilaf Rice with Meat

WIth its rich golden color, this Hearty Rice Pilaf with Meat is comfort food with a little swagger. Our fragrant It’s That Simple Tumeric-Infused Rice Blend Tender comes together in one pot with tender cuts of meat for a cozy and hearty dinner. Get ready to hear, “Is it ready yet?”

Instructions
Sauté the aromatics:
Heat oil in a large pan or deep skillet over medium heat. Add onions and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened. Add garlic and carrots, sauté for another 2 minutes.
Cook the meat:
Add the ground or diced meat. Break it up with a spatula (if ground) and cook until browned and no longer pink. Season with cumin, turmeric or paprika, salt, and pepper.
Add rice blend:
Stir in the dry It’s White Rice Blend and toast lightly for 1 minute to absorb flavor.
Simmer:
Add 3 cups of water or broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 5 minutes (or according to your rice blend’s instructions) until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
Fluff and finish:
Turn off the heat and let the pilaf sit, covered, for 2–3 minutes. Then fluff gently with a fork.
Garnish and serve:
Top with chopped parsley or cilantro if desired, and serve warm with a side salad or steamed vegetable
